Lunch with WGCT patron, HRH The Duke of Gloucester

On 28th November the Trust hosted a lunch at the Officers' Mess in Woolwich Barracks in the presence of patron HRH The Duke of Gloucester. This was to support the Commonwealth & Gurkha Garden project and the guest list was made up of those who had have contributed to the project and whom we wished to thank.

The Mess looked spectacular with a large amount of Regimental Silver lining the centre of the table and an excellent three-course meal, impeccably served.

The Presentation after the event was introduced by Chairman of the Trust, Tim Barnes, giving a short statement as to the current position in relation to the garden and then playing two short videos, one of the Gala Dinner and the other of the interview with garden designer Juliet Sargeant. Juliet followed with an enthusiastic address about her discussions (mutually beneficial) with the Conservation Officer at Royal Borough of Greenwich council and the planning application. The Duke of Gloucester rounded things off with words of encouragement and appreciation as to what has been achieved to date.

it was a lovely occasion and thank you to all who attended.
