Bombed during World War II, St George’s Garrison Church survives as an evocative ruin with recently conserved mosaics, and a modern canopy roof, for all to enjoy.

Tramshed Presents: Comedy at the Garrison 23rd July at 7.30 pm £10

On Friday 23rd July Tramshed presented one of their legendary Comedy nights - A night of hearty laughs with a bar on site. The line up:

Leroy Brito - A regular on the comedy circuit throughout the UK. Leroy’s had 3 years of sold-out solo shows at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, can been seen on TV as Rob on the BBC One hit sitcom Tourist Trap and is also the creator of the Moment of Truth podcast. He’s recently been a guest host on BBC Wales’ Six Nations Sin Bin, a host on BBC Radio Wales’ The Leak and featured as a stand-up on BBC Radio Wales’ Machynlleth Comedy Festival Virtual Showcase.

Rachel Fairburn Rachel Fairburn is a comedian and writer from Manchester. She has been featured in Chortle’s ‘One to Watch' list in 2020 and picked up the 2019 online content award from Joe.co.uk. She has also been a finalist of several prestigious competitions including Funny Women, City Life Comedian of the Year, the NATYS and English Comedian of the Year.

Rachel is co-host and co-writer of the worldwide smash-hit podcast All Killa No Filla. With a huge international following of over a quarter of a million listeners and growing, she has taken the podcast on several sell-out UK tours and a recent tour of the USA. She has been a staple of the Edinburgh Fringe since 2014, with 5 critically acclaimed solo shows under her belt and featured in the ‘40 jokes of the fringe’ by the Daily Telegraph in 2018. A regular on the UK stand-up circuit, Rachel is also curator and host of the wildly popular ‘Comedian’s Stories’ night at the 2Northdown comedy club in London.

Rajiv Karia Rajiv Karia is an up and coming stand-up with a subversive take on the day-to-day world. From conspiracy theories to veganism, or even just the life of a slacker in his twenties, Rajiv puts his comedic spin on it all. 

Rajiv has recently been announced as one of the BBC Studios new Staff Writers, to work across comedy productions for BBC Studios Audio, including the flagship Radio 4 topical shows The Now Show, The News Quiz, Dead Ringers and Newsjack. He has also been shortlisted for BBC Radio 4 Comedy Award 2019 and his script has been shortlisted for Triforce Writerslam 2019, in association with Amazon Studios.

St George's Garrison Church in Woolwich, with its modern canopy roof and stunning mosaics, is both an evocative ruin and a contemporary space. Designed by Thomas H Wyatt in an Italian-Romanesque style, the Church was built between 1862-63 to serve the Royal Artillery in Woolwich. Today it is run by a local group, the Woolwich Garrison Church Trust who are committed to making it available for all to visit and enjoy. Directly opposite the Barracks in Woolwich, South East London, come and enjoy its beauty and peaceful garden.
